It made the smile falter from the blonde girls lips for a moment, this summer had been one to remember, it had been the first one in a long time which she wished didn’t have to end. After heading back home to Tennessee for the two month break she ran into her high school crush. At first it was an awkward reunion and she had figured it was going to be just that, a five minute conversation before they went separate ways again. Instead, to the girls delight, he asked if she wanted to go see a movie to catch up more. Although all they did was hang out it made her summer, Mac had even thought that she was beginning to crush on him again at one point. That had been one of the times she wished she could throw away her virginity without a second thought like all the other girls in San Francisco. It made her jealous, seeing how easy going and free spirited they all were about their bodies. Of course Mackenzie knew she was pretty and had a nice body she just couldn’t bring herself to flaunt it in the mini shorts and tank tops. The whole situation hadn’t bothered her until she arrived back a couple weeks ago to see what everyone else was wearing compared to her. In her home town she never stuck out since most girls wore the same types of things to appease their parents but here she was out of her element. Her wardrobe had her sticking out like a sore thumb. The girl let out a sigh, after two years of living in the big city she finally gave in and went shopping. Buying a few unnecessary things for back to school. Mac had never been the type to worry about fitting in but here it was you either fit in or you’re on your own. It sucked and of course she was still quite conservative with her attire but she felt a little less self conscious in the slightly shorter dresses and shorts. It amazed her how her mind reacted to seeing all the other girls her age wearing different clothes. Having never followed a trend in her life it made her sad knowing she allowed herself to be driven to change her style, even if it was just by her own mind. Never the less, Mac had decided to give one last hoorah to one of her favourite things about summer. If you asked her to count how many times she found herself at the frozen yogurt stand the number would be sad. Yet here she found herself again, it became one of her thinking places, somewhere she used to escape reality for awhile. Heading up to the machine Mac eyed it for a moment, trying to decide what kind she wanted today. Once she picked, she grabbed it and headed to one of the tables placed around the area. ”Oh damn it.” Imeditatly she realized that she forgot to grab a spoon, pushing herself up from the table she went back to the counter, stepping on someone’s foot on her way by. Losing her balance Mac fell over, landing on her hands and knees. Trying not to curse she pushed herself off, brushing away the dirt that clung to her dress. Turning around a bright red flush claimed her cheeks. "I am so sorry! Are you alright?" She asked a slightly panicked tone taking over her voice. It was then that she noticed the blood trickling down her knee. Did she really manage to cut herself? How embarrassing. (c) to Zlorecile of caution aka Bellatrix of WA |
