And through the rising and falling apart, We discover who we are
It had been a long 3 months in hospital. Needle marks plagued the pale girls arms, which had been getting a little more shape onto them recently since she'd been recovering from the cancer in her system being completely wiped out with many operations and so forth. Luckily, she didn't end up losing any of her beautiful locks to the treatment she underwent - most of her suffering was mentally, since people merely came and went as they pleased. Of course, it was a good sign that she was beginning to care about other people again, because if she didn't she would have been suffering both physically and mentally. Sure, it was nice seeing her friends at her bed every few days to hang out and watch movies and stuff, but she hardly ever had the energy to go out and do stuff with them. Being confined to the hospital was torture for the usually energetic ball of power who bounced off walls on a good day. Her recovery was coming along smoothly, and so was her pregnancy.
Looking down at the reasonably sized bump protruding from her small body, Imogen sighed. She had almost lost the little alien inside of her a few times due to drastic operations taking a turn for the worst and whatnot, it wasn't exactly the happiest time for either parties. Anthony hadn't been around as much as he said he would be either, so having Rina and Kat there all the time was good to keep her distracted from worrying about what he was getting up to. Being 5 months pregnant didn't help her hormones at all, and the poor girl could be heard crying most nights whenever she was left on her own. It was a sad way to live, especially since most of the cancer patients she'd met had either passed away or had suffered unheard of things due to the severity of their cancer. Her friends had told her to stay strong, and in the outcome of surviving this crazy thing she might just possibly get a little baby out of it too - it was a great outcome, especially if there was nothing wrong with it.
Today she had made plans to catch up with Kyler, one of her closest friends. He'd been busy with Riley lately and hadn't had much time to pop by since she'd been admitted to hospital a few months back. She was happy that he'd finally gotten his life on track and that he was happy. Even after all the bumps in the road that the two had hit, they had come out of it as better friends - a friend that Imogen held very close to her heart. She had even gotten dressed up for the occasion, since there was a little more meat on her bones to decorate, she decided on nice flowing pants and a lace shirt - to top it all off she was rocking in her bunny sock-slipper things that she adored.
Cleaning up her room a little before his arrival, she felt a little sick. It wasn't like morning sickness or anything, but something different. Her stomach began to feel a little woozy as well, and she had to take a seat so she could see straight. Maybe it was just nerves for seeing her best friend after such a long time. A best friend who didn't know she was pregnant.
